About The Rainy Day
Greenhouse and Farm
The Rainy Day Greenhouse and Farm is a small, community-focused farm dedicated to growing fresh, seasonal food with care and intention. We produce a diverse mix of vegetables—including varieties used in African cuisine—as well as flowers. Using regenerative practices and as-organic-as-possible methods, we focus on building healthy soil and resilient crops.
Our goal is not just to grow food, but to create a space where people feel comfortable, welcome, and connected; a place where people can come to learn about growing food, understanding local systems, or simply spending time in a working farm environment.
My name is Nancy. I am a Nigerian-Canadian grower with a strong interest in sustainable agriculture and local food systems.
I was born and raised in Kaduna, in northern Nigeria, to parents who loved growing food. Our home was surrounded by fruit trees and vegetable gardens, and nearby maize fields so the connection between food and home was something I learned early and naturally.
I moved to Canada in 2012 to attend university and over time, I developed the foundational skills that shaped my career path.
After years of working across environmental and community-focused initiatives, I was drawn to farming as a hands-on way to support both people and the planet. My approach is focused on growing healthy food, learning each season, and building something that serves the community in a real, tangible way.
Today, I grow food close to my home, and bring it to yours!
